Rock Valley – 6 blocks of concrete overlay in 2 1/2 weeks
Rock Valley, Iowa
The City of Rock Valley needed their concrete Main Street repaved on a very accelerated schedule, with minimal disruption to the surrounding businesses. CCI completed this 3/4 mile project in 2 1/2 weeks while making special accommodations for the businesses.
Main Street was paved with a bonded concrete overlay. To ensure the concrete would bond together, the existing street was shot blasted and cleaned. CCI worked with the city mayor, administrator, and maintenance personnel as well as local businesses to meet this tight schedule while maximizing access to local businesses.
Off-street parking areas were developed to compensate for the closed main street, and CCI paved the street in sections so half the street was open at all times. These accommodations, along with commerce being restored quickly, resulted in local business owners being pleased with the project and the professionalism in which it was handled.
Project was completed in June 1998.
